What is Virtualmail?
Virtualmail is a module for Webmin http://www.webmin.com
and Sendmail http://www.sendmail.org
which provides your hosted virtual domains with a interface to add/modify/remove pop accounts and forwards for their hosted
domains.
|
| |
Requirements:
* Nix (Linux, BSD, Sco, etc)
* Webmin installed and configured
* Sendmail installed and configured.
* Local-host-names, alias, and virtusertable support is required
|
| |
How does it work?
Virtualmail is designed to work with Webmin and Sendmail. The only other requirement is that each hosted domain is
assigned to a unique group. (If abc.com had 3 users "Homer, Bart, Lisa" the users would belong to group ('abc') If you have
somebody with more than one virtual domain, then you configure him for each under one login, giving them control of each of
them from one session.
Common email addresses "webmaster, sales, support, info, etc" are also available for every domain without your user needing to deal
with error messages and multiple attempts. If 'xyz.com' tries to setup webmaster as a new pop account, and 'abc.com' already used
it, what will be assigned instead is 'webmaster.xyz' which is the desired account name, with the domain's group as a unique
identifier. This means that every hosted domain gets their desired Email address.
